SummerPalooza  2024 Leadership

Welcome to SummerPalooza Leadership Registration!

SummerPalooza is a great week for you to be involved and get connected to other church members.
Fun, Fellowship, Loving on kids, Sharing Jesus!  There is a place for EVERYONE to serve!

Small Group Leaders - Assistants

Our students are put into small groups designated by age.  These small groups range from 5-9 students.  Small group leaders build relations with their group, move them from place to place, and have some really neat conversations with their kiddos throughout the day - and at the end of each day at pickup. Each small group leader must be an adult or senior high (completed 9-12th grader).  Assistants can be completed 7th grade and up.
Good communication skills, able to enforce discipline in a loving way, willingness to get to know kids and have gospel conversations is necessary to lead a small group.  Willingness to learn, and help a small group leader is required from all assistants.

Bible Study Teachers/Assistants

Bible Study leaders teach the Bible Study lesson each day.  Students rotate to these leaders in 30 minute increments to hear the lesson and do related activities.  These leaders  teach the lesson a minimum of 2 times per day.
Bible study leaders assist the leader in giving out supplies, directing activities, filling in with teaching as needed.  Small group assistants remain in the room for crowd control.
A love for teaching God's Word, the ability to teach on a K-5th grade level, willingness to interact with and love on  kiddos are necessary to be a Bible Study Leader.  Bible Study Leaders must be active members of Gilliam Springs. Bible Study assistants must be comfortable sharing/teaching if needed and comfortable supporting a teacher throughout the day.

Missions Leaders

Our Missions time is a time of sharing how God works through us to minister to others.  We use real life experiences from our church, both stateside and abroad,  to share with kids and promote our missions offering.  Mission's leaders recruit leaders to come speak in person, get with other leaders to record videos that meet our guidelines and expectations, and direct the missions learning time.  The Mission leaders works alongside the Children's Director to decide the focus of the week.  Mission assistants help the leader teach, & lead activities.
A heart for missions, the ability to relate to K-5th graders is required of Mission's Leaders.

CREC Leaders

CREC is our time of taking crafts to the next level - more than take home activities, its really about taking crafting and recreation and tying them in closely with the Bible lesson of the day.  Being hands on, active, and ready to have some fun is the necessary requirements of serving in CREC.

Snack/Recreation Leaders

A fun time of reinforcing the Bible lesson is some of the kids favorite things - eating and playing.
Snack leaders put together the snacks for the kids each day, clean up the area between groups, and make sure we have what we need for each day - and make lots of kool-aid!
Recreation leaders must love being outside, playing games, and being around kids at their rowdiest!

Registration/Administration

Our registration team is the first people kiddos see when they come onto our campus - a smiling face and loving personality is a must!
Registration  includes getting attendance numbers to those who need them.
Administration is moving to check in-check-out for late arrivals and early leavers, and office details.
Big smiles, loving personalities, patience and an eagerness to help is needed for registration.
Ability to move around campus, and stay through 12pm is needed for Administration.

Sanctuary Set Design & Classroom Decorating

Love to create and decorate?  We have two decorating teams for SummerPalooza - a sanctuary team who works the week before SummerPalooza installing the set design - and weeks before building the individual props.  If you love building, painting, creating, and seeing a vision come to life we would love to have you on the Sanctuary team.  This team can work daytime, night time, weekends - but is finished before VBS starts!
Classroom decorating - we purchase some supplies, but other elements are created from paper, boxes, etc.  The classroom team works the week before SummerPalooza (daytime or nighttime) creating and installing the elements in each classroom and hallway of the ROC.
The items created by both of these teams continue to other churches throughout the summer.  Your work serves several churches in Marshall County!

Sanctuary & Audio/Visual

Our sanctuary team consists of those who have high energy and love to interact.  Loud, bold, fun, able to think on your feet and love to laugh with others and at yourself.
Sanctuary team will run the opening and closing sessions, and help with carline dismissal time.
Audio/visual team - must have experience in running our system already - team needed in multiple areas of campus
